About Alexis Noelle
WELCOME to the ALEXIS NOELLE jewelry collection website!
Artist Statement and Creative Process
My name is Becca and Alexis Noelle, the jewelry line that I created, is named after two of my most favorite and beloved women and jewelry lovers – my daughters! I design and style all the jewelry myself and put a lot of pride, time and love into each piece I create. I’ve enjoyed creating every single piece and I hope that it brings you just as much joy and happiness!
Alexis Noelle jewelry pieces are at times bold, bright and are always distinctive – a collaboration of various elements. I seek out stones and materials that have character and may use vintage focal pieces that have been carefully and lovingly selected to enhance the design of its respective piece. I find that the combination of vintage costume jewelry elements with modern materials give the pieces energy and life, naming each piece based on artistic, historical and cultural references to give each character and meaning. It gives me great pleasure to see how colors, textures and shapes of new and old interact. I am always on the hunt for focal pieces that could prompt a “feel good” or “look at me” statement.
Each piece of jewelry in the Alexis Noelle collection is designed, created and handcrafted from select semi-precious and precious gemstones, freshwater pearls, crystals, dichroic and lamp-work beads, sterling silver and mixed metals. Inclusions found in natural gemstones add to their beauty and uniqueness. I aspire to create jewelry that is beautiful and distinct - - not look like everyone else's, nor follow popular trends, hence, will be a truly one-of-a-kind piece that I hope you will enjoy wearing.
I utilize various methods to give each jewelry piece strength, flexibility and durability. Most pieces will have components that will be individually wire-wrapped, hand-knotted with S-Lon nylon multi-filament cord, or 49-strand nylon-coated multi-filament wire. Most recently, I've been experimenting on creating pieces using resin and encased in metal - - ephemera, tokens of life's precious moments - - photos of kids, family, pets; children's art, favorites short quotes, perhaps a treasured signature, small found objects, etc.
A few pieces may be fashioned from similar styles - - occasionally, I do get hung up on a particular style only because certain components command those styles, however, beads will be varied and no two pieces will be exactly the same. This website carries only a fraction of available jewelry pieces and I shall be updating the catalogue frequently. I invite you to visit often. Custom orders shall be considered on an individual basis.
Miscellany
COLORS: Photos are taken at my desk and no studio lights are used. Colors may vary by differences in computer monitor resolution, so if you would like a more detailed description of the colors, please contact me prior to purchasing. Some stones are dyed to enhance their natural colorings and will be identified as "dyed" in the color identification. Some ribbons used may also contain dyes so please be mindful of any allergies to dye that you may have as we cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions.
GEMSTONES: Gemstones were identified at the time of purchase by the supplier. I am not a gemologist or a lapidary. Any errors, discrepancies, or omissions in gemstone identification are not intentional. Your understanding is much appreciated.
ROMAN GLASS: Over the course of 2000 years, buried under the earth, these antique glass shards were once jars, cups, vases, perfume containers and decorative tiles. These objects broke into pieces and began collecting earth mineral deposits. The deposits formed unique, iridescent colors known to experts as patina. These Roman glass pieces have traveled a long distance through time to come to you. Enjoy!
HONGSHAN CULTURE JADE: Jade from the Hongshan culture in Northeastern China dates from 4700 to 2900 BC. Neolithic style Jade pieces were very popular then, mined, designed and hand-carved by artisans, commanding a hefty price, hence, reserved for the wealthy. Since then, there have been a large quantity of such pieces coming out of China in recent years, sold as "vintage neolithic style" Jade pieces, some authentic and many are said to be reproductions. The ones I've used in some of my creations are reproductions - - skillfully carved in the style of the period - primitive and abstract, with strong, simple features. Nevertheless, quite stunning!

Jewelry Care
Care for your handmade gemstone jewelry as you would any delicate keepsake. Sterlling silver is a soft metal so please take extra care when handling jewelry pieces made with this metal.
Do not wear bronze jewelry while swimming or bathing. Because all metals will tarnish and dull over time, I recommend keeping your jewelry in an airtight plastic bag. Doing this will slow down the tarnishing time and keep your jewelry looking its best longer. Cleaning supplies are also available commercially with specific instructions on how to care for metals, gemstones, freshwater pearls, crystals, glass, etc..
